Under the Official Information Act, I request the following information:
1. Copies of all briefing papers and advice provided to ministers discussing to the review into Kainga Ora announced on 18 December 2023.
2. A list of all meetings held between Kainga Ora officials and ministers, chief executives of other agencies or their officials where the review of Kainga Ora was discussed. For each meeting, please provide the date, titles and agencies of the people involved and a brief description of what aspects of the review were discussed.

Dear Mr Olsen
I refer to your request to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, dated 18
December 2023, requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. Copies of all briefing papers and advice provided to ministers
discussing to the review into Kainga Ora announced on 18 December
2023.
2. A list of all meetings held between Kainga Ora officials and
ministers, chief executives of other agencies or their officials where
the review of Kainga Ora was discussed.
For each meeting, please provide the date, titles and agencies of the
people involved and a brief description of what aspects of the review were
discussed.
You can expect to be notified of the decision on your request by 7
February 2024 at the latest, being 20 working days after the day on which
the request was received by Kāinga Ora in accordance with section 15(1) of
the Act.
For part two of your request, please note that Kāinga Ora can only respond
to instances where its staff were involved. For meetings with other
organisations that may have occurred about the review without Kāinga Ora
officials present (such as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development),
I would suggest raising your request with them or the Office for the
Minister of Housing.
Please also note that in accordance with Act and guidance provided by the
Office of the Ombudsman, this timeframe includes the summer holiday period
from 25 December 2023 to 15 January 2024, in addition to Waitangi Day.
If an extension of time is required to make a decision you will be
notified prior to that date in accordance with section 15A of the Act.
We may also contact you if further clarification or refinement of your
request is required to enable a decision to be made.
