Thank you for your request dated 15 November 2024 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities for
the following information under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I wish to ask these questions again:
8) Please advise if RDC has placed any requests for reimbursement from the Teitei
Drive project and provide copies of such emails.
9) Please advise if RDC has been paid any monies by either KO or HUD or any other entity
that KO is aware of towards the Teitei drive project in 2024.
10) Please advise if there are any outstanding requests for monies from RDC and if so, please
provide copies.
11) If RDC is not awaiting any funds and have no open requests, please confirm the date RDC
was advised no funds would be paid and a copy of the communication.
In addition, I wish to add supplementary questions:
A./ has kainga ora declined any funds or reimbursements to rdc or any contractors and if so
what were the amounts and to who?
B./ what are the amounts being claimed, the privacy of this figure should not be of confidential
nature, as the amounts wil either be paid by KO or Council.
C./ what has been the total spent by kainga ora on Teitei drive to date with a breakdown
D./ are there any open claims for reimbursement from RDC and what is the total value of the
claims
As advised in our acknowledgement to you, this request was sent to an unmonitored mailbox – the
previous response advises you not to reply to the email. As such, the date of receipt of the request
has been recorded as 25 November 2024, which was when the request was discovered.
I wil answer each of your questions in turn:
I wish to ask these questions again:
8) Please advise if RDC has placed any requests for reimbursement from the Teitei
Drive project and provide copies of such emails.
There are no outstanding requests for payments to the Ruapehu District Council (RDC).
9) Please advise if RDC has been paid any monies by either KO or HUD or any other entity
that KO is aware of towards the Teitei drive project in 2024.
Kainga Ora has paid RDC $5,793 for consent processing fees in 2024. Kāinga Ora cannot answer on
behalf of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or “any other entity”.
10) Please advise if there are any outstanding requests for monies from RDC and if so, please
provide copies.
There are no outstanding requests for payments from RDC.
11) If RDC is not awaiting any funds and have no open requests, please confirm the date RDC
was advised no funds would be paid and a copy of the communication.
Kāinga Ora advised RDC on 14 June 2024 that it was not in a position to cover RDC costs. Please
find attached the email advising RDC on this date. Some information from this email chain is withheld
under the following sections of the Act:
• 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the privacy of natural persons.
• 9(2)(j) to enable a Minister of the Crown or any public service agency or organisation holding
the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations (including
commercial and industrial negotiations)
In addition, the attachment referred to in the email from RDC is withheld in full under section 9(2)(j).
In making my decision to withhold the information outlined above, I considered that the public interest
in the release of this information did not outweigh the need to withhold this information. I have been
advised that RDC is releasing a summary of its costs incurred to you. I consider this will satisfy the
public interest in this information.
In addition, I wish to add supplementary questions:
A./ has kainga ora declined any funds or reimbursements to rdc or any contractors and if so
what were the amounts and to who?
Regarding declined funds or reimbursements to RDC, I refer you to question 11. Kāinga Ora has not
declined any funds or reimbursements to any contractors.
B./ what are the amounts being claimed, the privacy of this figure should not be of confidential
nature, as the amounts wil either be paid by KO or Council.

C./ what has been the total spent by kainga ora on Teitei drive to date with a breakdown

D./ are there any open claims for reimbursement from RDC and what is the total value of the

There are no outstanding requests for payments to RDC.
