Hotline Hold Music

Joseph made this Official Information request to University of Auckland

University of Auckland did not have the information requested.

From: Joseph

Dear University of Auckland,

I would like to request a full playlist of songs, broken down by the artist and song title, which are played as the university's hold music on all phone numbers and hotlines that have ever played hold music and the digital audio files if possible.

Yours faithfully,
Joseph

Dear requester,

I refer to your requests for information of 10 and 11 March 2024. The
University’s response follows:

“I would like to request a full playlist of all songs that are used in
hold music, broken down by the artist and song title, which are played as
the university's hold music.”

“I would like to request a full playlist of songs, broken down by the
artist and song title, which are played as the university's hold music on
all phone numbers and hotlines that have ever played hold music and the
digital audio files if possible.”

The University uses two telephony platforms, Cisco United Communications
Manager and Microsoft Skype For Business, and University Contact Centres
use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud customer contact centre
solution.  Cisco United Communications Manager, Microsoft Skype For
Business, and Amazon Web Services provide music on hold as an integral
part of their service. We do not know the names of the songs used in this
hold music (or whether the songs are named), and do not hold the requested
audio in a way that can be provided. This constitutes a refusal of your
request under section 18(g) of the OIA.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.

Yours sincerely,
