MB ChB Admissions 2024

Kiedus Cracknell made this Official Information request to University of Otago

The request was successful.

From: Kiedus Cracknell

Dear University of Otago,

I would like to request a breakdown of the applications, offers, and admissions into the 2024 MB ChB program. I would like this to be broken up into the 3 categories and further into each sub-category. I would also like to know the minimum and median weighted GPA of those who were offered a place into the program

Yours faithfully,
KC

I refer to your information request dated 20 March 2024 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested information in relation to admission to the University of Otago's MB ChB programme in 2024, broken down by category and equity group.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further seven working days - to 1 May 2024. We thank you for your patience and apologise for the delay. We will endeavour to respond sooner if possible.

This extension is necessary because your request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations. We are currently working on our response to your request, but due to the large quantity of information you have requested across a number of categories and equity groups, we require some additional time to complete our response.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.

Ngā mihi
Kelsey
