Dear University of Otago,

I'm an international student who wish to apply for the HSFY program but also holds an overseas tertiary qualification, which is;

*BSc (Hons) in Computer Science (TOP UP)
*1 year - Full time
*Entered the TOP UP program through previous professional qualifications (non-tertiary, non-university study)
*Completed Papers during TOP UP year;
Advanced Data Modelling
Programming III: Design Patterns & Algorithms
Software Development Practices
Individual Project

I want to know whether I can receive dispensation for prior university study when being admitted to the HSFY program as mentioned in the FAQ section of HSFY,

"Can I get a dispensation for prior university study?
Yes, in some cases, a dispensation may be granted if an application for enrolment to HSFY is made by someone who has prior university study, but only if:
The student has not studied any degree level university paper or papers that include any subject that is the same, similar to, or contains, significant portions of any of the prescribed HSFY papers, and
The student's previous degree level study does not total more than one year of equivalent full-time study"

I wrote to admissions team regarding the issue (30/03/2024) and as of today (10/04/2024) did not receive any reply.
Please provide me with the necessary information regarding my eligibility.

PS: I do not wish to apply for HSFY through the Degree, I will be applying using my Edexcel International Advanced Level qualifications.
