From: anonymous
Dear Department of Corrections,
I was an inmate from 2006 - 2011. In this time I escaped the auckland womens regional corrections facility in 2009. I was on the run for 9mnths before i decided to go back to the recieving office to hand myself in. My question is why was the community not made aware? When i returned to prison my mail to the media was not being sent out.
Yours faithfully,
Anonymous

I don't rate the chances of getting a useful answer to this. (1) They can simply ask you to verify you are eligible to make an OIA request (a citizen or resident), which is difficult as you are anonymous. (2) You're asking about your specific case. When you ask for information about yourself, that is a Privacy Act request. Not that they can tell who you are right now, to be able to answer the question.
A better approach would be to get a friend to ask on your behalf. If you don't want your name to appear on FYI.org.nz, they should make that request privately. Corrections of course will have to know your name to answer their question.
Alternatively, make a request here but ask in general terms. For example, "What procedures or processes are in place for notifying the public or other authorities when someone escapes from Auckland womens regional corrections facility?", and "What is done with a prisoner's outgoing mail if they escape prior to it being sent?" Again, an anonymous request probably won't work so you should get a friend to ask for you.
