follows.
 
"I would like to request a spreadsheet of all scholarships granted to the
University of Auckland Māori School Leavers for 2022-2024.
 
I would like this spreadsheet to include the secondary school of each
scholarship recipient, the title of the scholarship, and the amount that
was awarded to the student."
 
The University has two scholarships that are specifically awarded to Māori
school leavers: the University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence
Scholarship, and the University of Auckland Waka Moana Scholarship. The
value of these scholarships is publicly available on the University’s
website at

This constitutes a partial refusal of your request under section 18(d) of
the OIA, on the basis that information requested is publicly available.
Other information requested about these scholarships is provided below:
 

* Number of University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence
Scholarships awarded, by year*: 2022 – 22; 2023 – 28; 2024 – 27.
* Number of University of Auckland Waka Moana Scholarships awarded, by
year: 2022 – 61; 2023 – 55; 2024 – 48.

 
*Note – these statistics are based on the year of study, not the year that
the scholarship offer is accepted.
 
The University has a range of other scholarships for Māori students that
need not be school leavers (see

and scholarships for school leavers who need not be Māori (see
[4]https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/study/scho...).
Māori school leavers will also be awarded scholarships that are not
specifically restricted to Māori or school leavers. More information about
the wide range of scholarships offered by the University is available on

The University does not hold, and our existing reports cannot generate, a
list of all scholarships granted to Maori school leavers. This part of
your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA.
 
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
