OIA: 1332469 – Complaints about Plimmerton Kura in the past 2.5 years 
We are writing in response to discussions with the Office of the Ombudsman, regarding your 
information request to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) on 12 July 2024, for the following 
information: 
I want a full review in to ALL the concerns and complaints or issues about Plimmerton Kura 
in the past 2.5 yrs. A full number of how many complaints have being made to the ministry 
and then you to look at al  the issues raised externally and internally and a full report on 
whether the proper processes were followed by all staff including the kuras board. 
The Ministry has reconsidered your request under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act).  
In our response of 25 July 2024, we advised the Ministry had responded to your concerns 
regarding Plimmerton School on 10 June 2024 [reference number 1328848]. We noted you had 
also submit ed a request to the school Board for the number of complaints received and a review 
into these complaints. As such, we did not consider a transfer under section 14(b)(i ) of the Act was 
necessary. 
However, we note your correspondence of 11 July 2024 also included a request for the number of 
complaints made to the Ministry, specifically, about Plimmerton School, which we did not provide at 
the time. We apologise for this oversight. 
The Ministry has searched its records for the period July 2021 – July 2024 and I can confirm that 
eight complaints were received by the Ministry regarding Plimmerton School during this time. 
Please note, I have excluded from this number any complaints you submitted to the Ministry 
yourself, as you wil  already have this information in your possession.
