fyi‐request‐27472‐[email address]
Dear James
Information Request
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 2 July 2024, fol owing the
response to your previous OIA request IR-01-21-34518 of December 2021.
Please find below a response to each part of your request.
1. In your response, it was stated that District Commanders have personal use
vehicles. Are these able to be used during holidays and during the weekend on
non‐
work-related travel?
2. The wording of the vehicle policy implies that al vehicle users can only make trips if
work related. Do members of the police executive have additional leeway to use
vehicles for personal errands (and on annual leave et cetera) much like executives
of other businesses would?
Please refer to the Vehicle agreement policy provided to you in Police’s response to OIA IR-01-
21-34518, which states that the vehicle is provided for work use but can be used in a private
capacity.
3. Has there been any review of your relevant vehicle allocation principles or rules in
the intervening three years ‐
i.e. new roles included, or previous roles have had
vehicles removed or use downgraded?
As of July 2024, there has been no change to the Vehicle agreement policy.
Yours sincerely
Ian Gladding
