I refer to your information request dated 22 July 2024 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested the following information:

I would like to request information on the UCAT thresholds for entrance into the 2024 MBChB program from the 2023 HSFY intake.

1. The final threshold percentiles and minimum scaled scores for all five subtests (Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Situational Judgement) and the total score (1200-3600).
2. Information on exemptions made for individual candidates not reaching the threshold, such as the number of exemptions granted, if applicable.
3. Information on exemptions made for entire subcategories (pathways), if applicable.
4. The number of individuals whose MBChB application was preliminarily rejected due to not meeting the UCAT threshold.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to respond your request, by a further 7 working days – to 28 August 2024. However, we will endeavour to provide the information sooner if possible.

This extension is necessary to allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your request. We are currently working on your response, but due to the time required to produce the information requested, we require some additional time to complete our response. We thank you for your patience.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
