RBI rural broadband invite
James Lochead made this Official Information request to Ministry of Economic Development
The request was partially successful.
From: James Lochead
Dear Ministry of Economic Development,
So the plan is to offer us broadband a couple of decades late in Auckland.
Gleeson RD, Waiuku.
We now appear to be offered the great service of 1mbps by 2016 (possibly)... how exactly is this comparable to Waiuku with ultra fast broadband already! or even normal broadband speed. (granted if and when it happens, it will make things way cheaper)
Also their is no guarantee either, it's been in the pipeline for over 5 years to be upgraded! are their penetilies for failing as it was originally June 2015 - June 2016 and thats changed to June 2016.
May I suggest the executives of the providers (at home entire family and work) are restricted to the service the rest of us suffer daily when they fail to meet these targets.
Yours faithfully,
James Lochead
