Tēnā koe Stephen
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request to the Department of Conservation,
received on 31 August 2024 in which you asked for:
1. ‘Al correspondence between DOC and any party , from 1 May 2024, requesting
information, guidance, advice or clarification on:
i.
the transfer of the current RAL (Whakapapa) license to another party, or
ii.
i . the issuing of a new licence/lease for the Whakapapa ski field.
2. Please also provide all internal DOC correspondence on the task list and time-frame
for either of those activities.
3. Please also supply all DOC briefings and updates to the MoC on Whakapapa Ski field
from 1 May 2024.’
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to
your request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We
require an additional 15
days to respond to your request. We wil send you a response no
later than 18 October 2024, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as the consultations necessary to make a decision on the
request mean that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit. The length of the extension is also representative of the need to search
through a large quantity of information to service your request and meeting the original time
limit would unreasonably interfere with the Departments operations.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act to make a complaint to
an Ombudsman about the extension.
If you wish to discuss this response to your request, please contact
[email address].
