Innovation and Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
I am writing to formally request information under the Official
Information Act 1982. Specifically, I seek official statistics regarding
offshore fee-paying student visa application outcomes, broken down by
applicant nationality, for the period from 1 July 2024 to 30 September
2024.
Based on the initial assessment of your request we have determined we are
unable to provide the statistics you have requested for the period from 13
to 30 September 2024 at this time
We can start pulling the data from 1 October 2024 but this may result in
delays with the response meeting the 20 working day statutory
requirements.
Can you please clarify if these the timeframe of your request is correct
or if another timeframe may be more suitable.
Please respond to this email by end of day 17 September 2024.
Please be aware that any clarification or amendment of a request may be
considered to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum
statutory timeframe for response (see section 15(1AA) of the Act).

Upon confirmation of the dates for your request, we recommend that you withdraw your current request and put in a new request on 1 October 2024. This is because we are currently unable to provide you with the requested information, which means we are likely to refuse your request under section 18(g) of the OIA.
On October 1 2024, or at your earliest convenience from this date, you can make a resubmission of the request for the most accurate response.
