Tēnā koe Rachel
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request to the Department of Conservation,
received on 7 October 2024 in which you asked for:
…any service contracts, memoranda and policy information between the Department of
Conservation and the Dunedin City Council in relation to the management and oversight
of the South Island Kaka Captive Management Plan and the aviary at the Dunedin
Botanic Gardens.
I further seek any development plans as to the aviary.
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to
your request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We
require an additional 10
days to respond to your request. We wil send you a response no
later than 19 November 2024, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as the consultations necessary to make a decision on the
request mean that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act to make a complaint to
an Ombudsman about the extension.
If you wish to discuss this response to your request, please contact
[email address].
