Guidance documents to AML/CTF Reporting entities for No fixed abode

Miss W. Forest made this Official Information request to Ministry of Justice

Response to this request is delayed. By law, Ministry of Justice should normally have responded promptly and by (details and exceptions)

From: Miss W. Forest

Dear Ministry of Justice,

There is an exception process as to treating No fixed abode differently than to where people have fixed addresses in order to minimize or not discriminate people who are homeless or No fixed abode status recognised by the common law.

I believe there is a guidance paper by the ministry distributed to the AML/CTF reporting entities where the AML/CTF regulation is administrated by MOJ -- as to what the documented exception process is for address verification.

Please provide the documented guidance provided to reporting entities how to be compliant with s. 15(d) and 16(1)(a) of the AML/CFT Act when the person is of No fixed abode.

Also please provide the list of entities and date the guidance has been provided if this is available.

Yours faithfully,

Miss W. Forest
