Dear P Robins,
Thank you for your email.
Whilst your request is only for a week, there is still a significant amount of information in scope of your request the way it is currently worded.
As you may be aware, on 3 September 2024, the Government made an announcement regarding the International Visitor Levy (IVL), this announcement was of significant interest to both the tourism industry, and the media. As such, the Office has received a significant volume of correspondence during that time period.
A significant portion of this information are internal office communications, emails with journalists regarding media queries and emails the public and/or sector groups. The Office has carefully reconsidered your request and remains of the view that the information requested cannot be made without substantial collation or research.
Please refine your request further, we would suggest excluding information relating to media queries, and correspondence from the public and/or sector groups. The Office is happy to work with you to accommodate your request, if you would like to discuss your request then a phone call can be arranged.
Please note, under section 15 of the Official Information Act 1982, any clarification or amendments made to a request within seven days after the date it is received, that request may be treated as a new request and the time limit for the response restarts.
