We acknowledge receipt of your request under the Official Information Act
1982.  Specifically, you requested:

 

I respectfully request the following information:

 

1. Definition of Antisemitism: Please provide the official definition of
"antisemitism" as recognised and applied by the New Zealand Government,
including any formal documents, policies, or guidelines that delineate
this definition.

 

2. Recognition of Semitic Peoples: Does the New Zealand Government
formally recognise Palestinians as part of the Semitic peoples? If so,
please provide relevant official statements or documents affirming this
recognition.

 

3. Applicability of Antisemitism Protections: In cases where Palestinians,
as recognised Semitic peoples, are subjected to discrimination or abuse,
does the New Zealand Government’s definition of antisemitism encompass
such acts? Specifically, I am interested in whether the government
considers abuse against Palestinians to be a violation under its
antisemitism policies.
