Percentage of public transport subsided

Dan Moskovitz made this Official Information request to New Zealand Transport Agency

Currently waiting for a response from New Zealand Transport Agency, they must respond promptly and normally no later than (details and exceptions).

From: Dan Moskovitz

Dear New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi,

In the recent RNZ article discussing how the amount of public transport subsided by Waka Kotahi has changed, the following fact is attributed to Minister Brown:

"In 2017, public transport users contributed 40 percent of the operating costs, but by 2023 this had dropped to 10 percent."

In 2023, half price fares for under-25s was still in effect. As of 2024, this is no longer in effect. Can Waka Kotahi confirm if the figure is still 10% even after the removal of half price fares? If not, what is the new figure?

Yours faithfully,

Dan Moskovitz
