You have requested:

"Can you please provide an exact 10 year history of Exotic afforestation across the 8 LUC grades, including total hectares per LUC across all of New Zealand."

National land use information is captured under the Land Use Mapping (LUM ) process which is run every four years, most recently in 2020. This process does not capture "afforestation" but does cover the extent of forest land nationally.

In order to assist with your request for information, The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) would be able to provide you with a summary of National LUM data across the last 10 years using the LUM data at 2012, 2016 and 2020 respectively, segregated by LUC.

In addition, we can provide an aggregate view of all post-1989 forest land currently registered under Emission Trading Scheme segregated by LUC

Can you please confirm if you would like MPI to go ahead with providing this information or if you would like us to continue with this request.
