Kia ora,
LGOIMA 2024-72 re Citizenship dates for 2025
Regarding your request submitted to the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) dated
13 December 2024 for information:
“I would like to request the dates for all Citizenship Ceremonies across North
Island City Councils from December 2024 to December 2025”.
In response to your request, we would like to provide the following information:
1.
2025 Citizenship dates
Central Hawke’s Bay District Council has not yet finalised our dates for the 2025
citizenship ceremonies. However, tentative placeholders have been arranged for
the following dates:
• Wednesday, 5 March 2025 at 6pm or Wednesday, 2 April 2025 at 6pm; and
• Wednesday, 8 October 2025.
Please note that these are provisional dates and have not yet been confirmed by
the Mayor.
As of 15 November 2024, there are 7 candidates on the waiting list for
citizenship ceremonies in Central Hawke's Bay. In general, ceremonies are held
twice a year, depending on the number of approved applications received from
the DIA.
2.
Attending Citizenship Ceremonies at a Location Other than Your Usual Place of
Residence
The council is responsible only for the ceremonies held within Central Hawke's
Bay and does not manage or allocate candidates to ceremonies hosted by other
councils. To request attendance at a ceremony in a different location, you will
need to contact the DIA. They will assess the request and check if the
participating council can accommodate it.
Please note that candidates are invited to their respective citizenship ceremonies
directly by the DIA. For any enquiries related to specific upcoming ceremonies,
please contact them directly at:
[email address].
