Dear Ministry of Social Development,

In the past you have published historical information in your annual statistical report which is no longer available. I am after an updated version of each of the following tables please.

Section 8: Trends since 1940 in use of, and expenditure on, pensions and main benefits table 8.1 Historical summary of the number of people receiving pensions and main benefits
1940-2008
table 8.2 Historical summary of expenditure on pensions and main benefits 1940–2008 ..

I realise that recent changes to benefit categories will have an impact on these tables but I am sure you will be able to include them in some form.

As per our phone discussion this morning (6 May 2016) it was agreed that
your request for information would be closed as the Ministry is not able
to provide you with the information you have requested. The reproduction
of the statistical report you have requested would require a considerable
amount of Ministry resources. I refer you to the annual reports and
benefit fact sheets to further assist you with your request. These
