Calls to the SIS public helpline
Bill made this Official Information request to New Zealand Security Intelligence Service
Response to this request is long overdue. By law New Zealand Security Intelligence Service should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Bill
Dear New Zealand Security Intelligence Service,
Are calls made to the NZSIS public helpline as listed on the NZSIS's website recorded electronically?
If so, for how long are those recordings stored?
And are those recordings available to members of the public via a Privacy Act request?
Yours faithfully,
Mr Robertson
New Zealand Security Intelligence Service
Dear Mr Robertson
Thank you for your email of 14 October 2016 seeking information under the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
We will respond within the twenty working days provided for in the OIA. However, if an extension of the time limit is necessary, we will, of course, let you know.
Yours sincerely

Thank you kindly. It will be very interesting to know to what extent you guy record calls to your actual agencies given that we now know you record everything else routinely.
