Official Information Act request #16.103 – Callplus Services Limited T/A Slingshot
We refer to your email of 19 December 2016, seeking information about the outcome of the
Commerce Commission’s investigation of Callplus Services Limited T/A Slingshot. We have
treated this as a request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
Commission’s response
We apologise for the delay in communicating the outcome of this investigation to you.
Following our investigation, we laid charges against Slingshot and its telemarketing
company, Power Marketing Limited for alleged breaches of the Fair Trading Act.
The outcome of this action was that the court imposed penalties of $250,000 against
Slingshot and $168,750 against Power Marketing. Our media release about the outcome of
