Dear Cody

 

The Brake Code programme (software) was first used from 1991. Tens of
thousands of heavy vehicles were certified for legal road operation using
this software and more than a decade and Statements of Compliance (SoC)
are held by individual Certifiers appointed by the Transport Agency. The
Transport Agency’s legacy agencies did not request and retain copies of
these SoCs except in limited special cases of problematic certifications,
audits etc. The software is now obsolete having been replaced from 2008 by
the Transport Agency’s Heavy Vehicle Brake Calculator – SoCs under the
Calculator are similarly retained by individual Certifiers and not the
Transport Agency.

 

Any information held by the Transport Agency which relates to software for
producing SoCs under the New Zealand Heavy Vehicle Brake Code will be
historical paper records dispersed throughout many different files held in
long-term storage. There would be considerable effort, time and cost
involved in retrieving and searching through all possible files for “any
information” relating to the software for producing SoCs.

 

Can you please specify what exactly you are seeking and if you can refine
your request?
