Dear Mr Snijders

The response to your official information request follows:

(1) Please confirm the number and names of the staff from the council that attended the ABCD Conference in Goa.

Response: Two staff members attended the conference. Council is unable to provide the names as this would constitute a breach of Principle 11 of the Privacy Act 1993, and , in doing, so Council is relying on Section 17 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 in withholding this information.

(2) Please confirm the amount paid by council to the staff that attended the conference whether it be expenses, a cash lump etc.

Response: Council contributed $1000 towards the costs for each staff member's attendance, on the basis that the conference programme was directly relevant their work programme/responsibilities, and was funded from their annual training and development budget.
