Information Held Re: Rail to Huapai
Nigel Jones made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
The request was successful.
From: Nigel Jones
Dear Auckland Council,
Under LGOIMA, and given Rodney Local Board's recent proposals and advocacy for rail services to Huapai (giving me reason to believe documents may be held), I'd like to request:
Does Auckland Council, directly or via the Rodney Local Board (and potentially Local Boards covering Swanson & Waitakere) hold documents, reports, plans, costings, Benefit Cost Ratios or any other analysis regarding the proposals for the current rail to Huapai plan? If so, what are they, and please provide a copy, if there are multiple versions of documents please provide the latest copy, and any change logs that may exist.
For clarity, the intention of this request is for information held by Auckland Council, and advice received by Auckland Council, not for information that may be held by other agencies (AT, Kiwirail, etc) only (ergo, please do not transfer this request).
Yours faithfully,
Nigel Jones
From: Nigel Jones
Dear Auckland Council,
Just to note that I am aware that a report by MRCagney Pty Ltd, titled "Waitakere to Huapai - Public Transport Options Assessment", Version 5 (14 Feb 2013) has been released by Auckland Transport in the past. There is no need to release this document if included in the scope of my request as it's publicly available at https://fyi.org.nz/request/915-reports-o.... Only confirmation/denial of it's possession by Auckland Council would be required.
Yours faithfully,
Nigel Jones

Good Evening Auckland Council,

I am currently preparing a referral to the Ombudsman in the event of further non-response to my request.
Yours faithfully,
Nigel Jones

Thank you Jenny,
Just a point of clarification, page 13 of the attachment, has a reference to both Auckland Council Infrastructure Committee and Waitakere Local Board agreeing with the PTUA's proposal.
This would indicate there is likely documents that lead to some basis of agreement within those two groups within Auckland Council, including potential analysis as to it's viability that may be in scope of my request (in the sense of Auckland Council directly holding the information). Could you please verify if this is the case, or if the PTUA's assertion may be a misnomer.
Yours sincerely,
Nigel Jones

CARRIED
A [1]power point presentation was provided. A copy has been placed in the
official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a
minutes attachment. I've attached their supporting materials.
It has been confirmed by the council’s Local Board Services team that the

about the planning for future public transport to serve future urban
growth in the north west.
