Exhibition Drive, Titirangi
Simon Kitson made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
The request was successful.
From: Simon Kitson
Dear Auckland Council,
On 9 April 2017, Mayor Phil Goff spoke at a meeting of the Save Oratia group. During the course of that meeting he made the promise that Exhibition Drive Titirangi would remain in Council ownership in perpetuity. See https://www.facebook.com/Westernleader/v...
It's, of course, easy for politicians to make promises orally I was wondering whether written confirmation will be given to this promise and how quickly we can expect this promise to form part of a written document.
Yours faithfully,
Simon Kitson

Dear Auckland Council,
I was wondering when I could expect a reply to this query. The Mayor Phil Goff stated in April that Exhibition Drive would be protected as a public walking track in perpetuity. I was wondering whether any concrete steps had been taken to assure this outcome. Would it be possible to get in writing the assurance that this walking track will indeed be preserved for the public?
Yours faithfully,
Simon Kitson

Dear Auckland Council,
Still no reply to my request in June for a written assurance on the question of the future of Exhibition Drive. The Mayor gave an oral assurance in the Save Oratia meeting of 9 April- I don't think I should have to resort to the Ombudsman to get a written assurance in this respect. What is going on?
Yours faithfully,
Simon Kitson
