Reducing Reoffending Through Employment -- presentation by Elizabeth Manchee
Ti Lamusse made this Official Information request to Department of Corrections
The request was successful.
From: Ti Lamusse
Dear Department of Corrections,
I saw that Elizabeth Manchee, National Manager Employer Partnerships, gave a presentation about reoffending and employment. You can see the presentation pdf here: https://www.workwise.org.nz/assets/files...
In the presentation, she claims that "60% of prisoners are unemployed before they go to prison". I am interested in the data that was used to support this claim.
Please provide me with the resources used to make this claim.
If such data exists, please provide me with the unemployment rate of prisoners prior to incarceration, broken down by year since records began.
Thank you for your unfailing assistance.
Yours faithfully,
Ti Lamusse
