BUllying at WIT
Alfred Vella made this Official Information request to Waiariki Institute of Technology
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Waiariki Institute of Technology should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Alfred Vella
Dear Waiariki Institute of Technology,,
In 2000 three members of staff at the University of Luton independently complained to that University about bullying by the same senior manager. The case was found for at least one member of staff.
The bully also eventually left the university but moved to other senior posts in academia including at WIT.
All of the complainants left the University soon after – two being sacked.
Questions:
1) Did the University of Luton inform WIT about the bully?
2) What did WIT do to prevent the possibility of bullying continuing at WIT?
3) What part, if any, did alleged connections of the bully to the UK’s Labour party play in WITs actions?
4) The bully was alleged to have bullied staff at WIT. What was done about this?
Thanks
