Posible Preservation of a DC class locomotive

Dear KiwiRail,
With the DCs being withdrawn and going out of service and being replaced around 2020 and 2021 I was wondering if there ever would the be any chance of one being sold off or donated to a keen heritage railway society for preservation. I fully understand Kiwi Rail is a business of which uses locomotives to haul freight throughout New Zealand though I believe saving one would be a very good idea in the terms of preserving a piece of New Zealand Railways history, if not in 20 years every DC class locomotive shall gone and not one shall exist anymore, which many other classes of locomotives faced back in the NZR days. Looking into the future im sure many will have wished such a old but fine class of loco was preserved as they are a strong part of the New Zealand Railways history. If one DC was put aside for preservation I would personally suggest DC 4409, my reasons being is it is still in its original New Zealand Railways fruit salad livery, still has the back number board plates and is still in running condition. From a rail enthusiasts point of view it is also the last DC to be running in New Zealand that is still in that livery which in terms of history would mean a lot.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing your reply
Yours faithfully,
Jonathon Holmes-Welsh
