Thank you for your request regarding the plans for the proposed speedway
at Colin Dale Park and the proposed plans for the upgrade of Waikaraka
Park

Our response is as follows:

Colin Dale Park

 

A paper was taken to the Finance and Performance committee on 20 November
2018 on moving the speedway from Western Springs to Colin Dale Park,
councillors voted to defer a decision on this move until a wider debate on
stadia happened. 

 

No other work has been undertaken since then.

 

Please find attached a publicly available presentation that provides
additional information.

 

Waikaraka Park

 

There are currently no approved plans to upgrade.  The local board and
council departments are exploring what to do with the old grandstand in
Waikaraka Park next to the stockcar track which is currently fenced off
for safety reasons.  Any plans that come out of these discussions would go
up to the local board and be on their public agenda.
