Adoption of cats from concourse
Grace Haden made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
The request was refused by Auckland Council.
From: Grace Haden
Dear Auckland Council,
By way of LGOIMA please provide copies of the council decisons and delinerations which led to the set up the council dog control facilities at the concourse being used for the re homing of cats.
Please also provide any documents which discusses the use of rate payers money for this facility and show why it is a council function which needs to be undertaken and the consideration that has been given to the fact that this is not a core function for council
Could you also please advise what happens to an animal taken in and which cannot be rehomed- are cats handed to the RNZSPCA de sexec and released on to the community as ferral cats or are surplus cats euthanised.
Please provide a copy of the councils policy which relates to the provision of services for animals other than stock or dogs (for which the council has a statutory obligation )
Yours faithfully,
Grace Haden

The barrier to declare a request vexatious is very high, "such that no reasonable person could properly treat it as bona fide" according to the Ombudsman's practice notes.

This request does not appear to meet that standard. I suggest an immediate complaint to the Ombudsman.
