Ministry of Justice
Good afternoon Ms McIntyre,
With regards to your Official Information Request of 07 April 2019 titled
‘Abortion and the Crimes Act’, as below, we would just like to gain
clarification from you on two of these questions.
For questions two and three you have asked;
“The total number of people charged for the offences of ss 182, 183, and
186 of the Crimes Act”
“The total number of people prosecuted for the offences of ss 182, 183,
and 186 of the Crimes Act.”
In our system ‘numbers of people charged’ and ‘numbers prosecuted’ means
the same thing. Are you able to please clarify if your meaning was for
separate data and would like to re-word one of your questions? Or will
answering these as one single question suffice?
For question four; "The total number of people found guilty of the
offences of ss 182, 183, and 186 of the Crimes Act."
Do you mean found guilty including - or excluding - those who admitted
the offence?
If you can take a look at these questions and get back to us with these
clarifications, then we can move forward with processing your request.
Kind regards,

Dear correspondence, official,
For questions two and three, those can be answered as one question.
For question 4, could the information include those who admitted the offence, and also specify what number of those found guilty admitted to the offence.
Yours sincerely,
Kate McIntyre

It's a shame the Ministry of Justice decided to only release this information in an inaccessible image-based PDF format.
