My apologies. I have been travelling overseas and I see that my response was trapped in my outbox.

I refer to your request of 14 April regarding our involvement in the production of Boss Babes.

The production is being managed by Warner Bros, who pitched the show to TVNZ, after being advised by TVNZ that it was looking for a programme within this genre. On receiving the proposal from Warner Bros, the final decision to commission the programme was taken by our Content Director following consultation and on the advice of her team of commissioners and programmers.

The programme is being made specifically for TVNZ OnDemand, and will be funded entirely by TVNZ through commercial revenue. No external funding has been sought.

Any correspondence between ourselves and Warner Bros is commercially sensitive and withheld under section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the Act.

In our view the withholding of the information is not outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable in the public interest to make it available.

In accordance with Section 19(b) of the Act we advise that you have the right to seek an investigation and review of the above refusal by making a complaint under Section 28(3) to an Ombudsman.
