dated 26 July 2019 for the following information regarding Council's
maintenance of the Reefton Rollerpark over the five year period 1 July
2014 to 30 June 2019 :

 

(1)  specifically what repairs and / or maintenance has Council done, and

(2)  the cost of that maintenance.  

 

We received your request 26 July 2019. We will endeavour to respond to
your request as soon as possible and in any event no later  23 August
2019, being 20 working days after the day your request was received. If we
are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an
extension of that timeframe.

I refer to your official information request dated 26 July 2019  for
information regarding Council’s maintenance of the Reefton Rollerpark over
the five year period 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2019 :

 

The information you have requested is outlined in red below below:

 

(1)    specifically what repairs and / or maintenance has Council done,

 

For the past 5 years:

WestReef have undertaken weekly inspections of the skate park on behalf of
Council, normally every Monday morning. These inspections are recorded
with a monthly reporting accompanying the monthly claim.  General site
checks include the removal of rubbish, general gardening duties, removing
hazards that may have appeared, such as broken glass and making-good any
actions of vandalism.

 

In addition to routine inspections, there have been other specific tasks
completed over the past 5 years which include: 

 

•        Water blasting of the entire park

•        Concrete repairs (where the galv coping pipe was removed)

•        Replacement of wooden slats on seats

•        Installation of water fountain (installed approx. 2 years ago)
and the routine replacement of the water filters

 

 

(2)    and, the cost of that maintenance

 

For the past 5 years the cost of maintenance on the Reefton Skate Park has
been approx. $20,000 (approx. $4,000 per year)

 

 

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision.
