Dear Capital and Coast District Health Board,

Pursuant to the Official Information Act 1982, of:

1) I request release of the standard 28 day roster of Registered Nurses that was in operation at Wellington's psychiatric inpatient facility; Te Whare o Matairangi's Te Taha Tauira ward and Whakatau Wairua ward between 31.01.15 and 17.04.15.

2) I request the information noted in point 1 above to be solely numbers of full time equivalent (FTE) Registered Nurses and without any inclusion of personal details of individual nurses.

3) I request the information in point 1 and 2 to be released under urgency to assist in a number of legislated requirements and investigations.

As this information was requested previously, but repeatedly denied or misrepresented, I have simplified and clarified this request, so as to prevent any further vexatious responses from CCDHB.

We note that we have provided you with the relevant information requested for the dates 14, 15, 16 and 17 April 2015 (see our response to your OIA request with our reference OIA 2019/199).

We refuse your request for the dates 31 January 2015 to 13 April 2015 on the basis that it would require substantial collation or research to make the information requested available. We would need to work through each day of the roster over this time period and identify the number of nurses rostered to work each shift. We have considered whether fixing a charge or extending the time limit would enable the request to be granted. We do not consider that it would do so.

You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act 1982 to the Office of the Ombudsman, to seek an investigation and review of our refusal to disclose information to you as set out above. Further information about making a complaint can be found at
