Request for details of specific legal costs incurred re Jimbo the dog
Katherine Raue made this Official Information request to South Waikato District Council
The authority would like to / has responded by post to this request.
From: Katherine Raue
Dear South Waikato District Council,
Please provide a comprehensive breakdown of the
court costs incurred for the death-row dog 'Jimbo'?
The owner is Carolyn Kin and here is the related news article
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/articl....
The court costs have been stated as $67,503, but we would like a full break down, as ratepayers money has been used, and are shocked and concerned that a Council spokesperson has announced that "The invoices on record unfortunately do not detail this breakdown."
The spokesperson has confirmed that "We can obtain a breakdown from our lawyers" - please do so without delay, and provide copies immediately of these "invoices on record" - is it Council practise to simply pay invoices of over sixty seven and a half thousand dollars without the costs being adequately itemised???
Please provide all information regarding legal advice Council received regarding this matter as well.
Yours faithfully,
Katherine Raue

Received a prompt response from a helpful staff member who assures me this information will be provided in hardcopy by post as well as in a pdf document which can be published on the net, which is a much better response than that given to the previous requester of the information. I will publish a link to it when it arrives.

The amount was not $67,000 as claimed in the response to the other request on this site regarding this matter, it was over a hundred thousand dollars, and the legal bills are at this link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Evc9g...
Things to do with this request
- Add an annotation (to help the requester or others)
- Download a zip file of all correspondence

This request was made in response to the disgraceful - and unlawful - response received by another requester - at this link - readers can view the revealing response to Thomas's request and note that it refuses to provide the information (despite this website referring to the request as "successful" and it is clear that no review of these costs has taken place and it's also clear that ratepayers are being RIPPED OFF!
