Kia ora David,
Thank you for your request dated 17 February 2021, relating to the
proposed cycle/shared path from the Onehunga waterfront to Onehunga
Railway Station.
Panuku Development Auckland (‘Panuku’) has considered your request and
provided the below response.
Panuku can confirm its aspirations for a better connection from the
Onehunga Town Centre to the Onehunga Waterfront as laid out on page 60 of
the High Level Project Plan found here
[1]https://www.panuku.co.nz/downloads/asset...(part%20one).pdf.
At this stage there are no further details for a proposed path for this
North-South connection, however Panuku will generate further details as
part of the Masterplan process in the second half of 2021. Once the
Masterplan process is complete, an improvement project would need funding
confirmed and more detailed design undertaken, after which a start date
would be announced. This area is also partly covered by the East West Link
designations and is subject to ongoing discussion with Waka Kotahi NZTA
and Auckland Transport.
Panuku shares your sense of urgency for this project and looks forward to
working with the wider Onehunga community and yourself on future
improvements to this area.
We trust this information satisfies your request. Should you believe that
we have not dealt with your request appropriately, you have the right in
accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA to make a complaint to the
Office of the Ombudsman and seek an investigation.
If you have any questions please contact me on 09 301 0101, quoting LGOIMA
No. 8140008152.
