2021 regarding drug and alcohol testing at Hastings District Council.

 

2.    This is being treated as an Official Information request, and as
such Council must meet certain criteria in how and when we respond to you,
set out in the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act
1987.

 

3.    Your request has been provided to the relevant officers for follow
up. You will be advised of Council’s decision as soon as is reasonably
possible, and no later than 20 working days from the date we received your
request, unless we have informed you that we need an extension to that

Further to your request for information received 4 May 2021 regarding drug
and alcohol testing at Hastings District Council, I am now able to provide
you with Hastings District Council’s response.

 

You requested : Our response

 

1.         Does the organisation carry out drugs and alcohol testing
(among employees or other persons)?     Yes for employees

2.         If drug and alcohol testing does take place at the
organisation:

            a. Who currently provides the testing service i.e., name of
service provider(s)?   Loop Health & Safety Limited and the Drug Detection
Agency if the normal provider (Loop H&S) is unavailable.

 

            b. For each (named) service provider:

                   i. What is the nature of the drug & alcohol testing
service delivered e.g., saliva, urine, breath and alcohol and synthetic
cannabinoids?

                   Both providers undertake Urine Drug Screening (for THC,
Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepines, Opiates) and
Breath Alcohol Screening as required (there is no set frequency)

                   ii. In what geographic location(s) is the service
delivered? Hastings District

                   iii. Is the service provided under contract? If yes:   
Council has a service agreement with Loop Health & Safety, costs are
charged as per price schedules.

 

1.         How many contracts does the provider have with your
organisation?  Council has a service agreement with Loop Health & Safety.

 

2.         What is the term of that/those contract(s)? Not Applicable (not
a term contract)

 

3.         What is the dollar value of that/those contract(s)?  Not
Applicable (not a term contract)

4.         Are there options for renewing that/those contract(s)? Not
Applicable (not a term contract)

            c. What organisation(s)/company(ies) previously conducted drug
and alcohol testing for your organisation (repeat all of ‘b’ for previous
service providers)?

            Bay Health & Safety Services previously undertook Urine Drug
Screening (for THC, Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine,
Benzodiazepines, Opiates) and Breath Alcohol Screening under a service
agreement
