Subject: RE: OIA0155 Request for information on public sector pay freeze
Hi Jake
I refer to your official information request dated 7 May 2021 requesting
“information held by Minister Hipkins' office on the public sector pay
freeze advice received by the minister, communications and records of
meetings between the minister and officials regarding the pay freeze, and
anything else pertinent to the decision (including who the decision was
taken by)”.
The Official Information Act 1982 requires that I advise you of the
Ministers decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the
day the request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to
meet that time limit and I am, therefore, writing to notify you of an
extension of the time to make a decision, to 2 July 2021.
This extension is necessary because consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this
decision, please feel free to contact me
([1][email address])
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Kind regards,
Christina
