The request was partially successful.
From: Sophie
Dear Independent Police Conduct Authority,
What can I do if I am not satisfied about a decision made by the IPCA regarding a complaint against the NZ Police?
Is the IPCA answerable to the Ombudsman NZ (website: ombudsman.parliament.nz)?
Best regards,
Sophie

If you don't agree with the Authority's decision, you can write to us and tell us why you disagree with the outcome.
If you give us new evidence or there are issues we didn't address, we will review your complaint and all information collected. We will then write to you with a decision.

Hi IPCA,
You haven't answered if you are answerable to the Ombudsman NZ.
Kind regards
Sophie

Afternoon Sophie,
Under our Act is there no right of appeal so we are not answerable to the Ombudsman. If you would like to take your complaint further, you will need to seek legal advice.
Regards,
INDEPENDENT POLICE CONDUCT AUTHORITY
