Outcome and monitoring data from pilot whale strandings from 2001-2021
anna goodwin made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation
Department of Conservation did not have the information requested.
From: anna goodwin
Dear Department of Conservation,
I viewed with interest a DOC research poster from around 2001 in which it was proposed that odondocete whales that were "re-floated" after mass stranding events should be monitored with tagging and possible tracking to assess their outcomes. Please provide a summary of the results of any research conducted by DOC or its affiliated stakeholders related to any tagging initiatives or other research conducted by DOC to address the survival and outcomes of whales which are re-floated after mass stranding events in New Zealand. Please let me know if you need the specific referenced poster.
Yours faithfully,
anna goodwin
