Kia ora Morgan,
The Ministry would like to sincerely apologise for the delay in providing
you with a response to you Official Information Act request regarding the
classification of Artemisia Annua (ref. H202112194).
This was largely in part, due to the fact that consultation with all the
submitters of the material within scope of your request was required prior
to release. The team had trouble contacting one of the submitters and this
therefore delayed the entire response.
Additionally, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic response, the Ministry
was and is still experiencing significantly higher volumes of queries and
requests for information. Paired with the considerable increase in
requests and internal capacity issues, this had a direct impact on the
team’s ability to respond to your request on time.
I hope this assists with your complaint to the Ombudsman.
