Thank you for your correspondence received by the Ministry of Health (the
Ministry) on 20 September 2021 for: 

  

“I am requesting to know the payouts that clinics receive per vaccination
and test that is given.” 

  

Please note, we have interpreted your request to be regarding the COVID-19
Pfizer vaccine and COVID-19 PCR swab test. 

  

The amount a GP and pharmacy receive per dose of the Pfizer vaccine is as
follows:

The amount each district health board (DHB) and lab receive for COVID-19
PCR swab testing is as follows: 

o COVID-19 test swab payment to DHB: $75 per swab 
o COVID-19 test payment for lab processing: $63 per sample

You need to ask them if that GP/Pharmacy rate paid for each vaccine is the same dollar amount a popup clinic or vaccination center gets paid?

Further more run the calculator on this to see how much of a financial incentive/kickback the government has paid out on PCR testing alone.

There have been 3,602,589 PCR tests conducted - Source https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/dise...

So a total of $270 million has been paid to DHB's for swabbing and $226 million paid to labs for processing. So the government has paid for PCR testing alone $496 million in kickbacks.
