This is a request for information relating to the Export Controls
Framework Review, which was recently published on the MFAT website.

I would like to request copies of all briefings the Foreign Minister has
received on the topic of this review and MFAT's response to it, dated
since the beginning of April.

This letter advises that the timeframe for responding to your request is
being extended by 15 working days, to 17 November 2021. This is because
consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time frame.
If this process is completed earlier than expected, a response will be

Four documents are within the scope of your request, and are attached.
Some information is withheld under the following sections of the OIA:

9(2)(a): to protect individuals’ privacy; and

9(2)(g)(i): to protect the free and frank expression of opinions by
departments.
