I am a New Zealand citizen. I make the below request to your Ministry under the Official Information Act 1982.
I request the following information for the 1 January 2021 to 18 October 2021 (or similar dates):
1. The number of arrivals into MIQ facilities from flights from Australia by day.
2. Of the above, the number of persons testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay in MIQ by day
3. Of the above returnees who tested positive, from which testing day was their positive result returned.
4. Which dates in 2021 a pre-departure test was required before flying to New Zealand from Australia.

Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) transferred from the Ministry of Business, Employment, and Innovation
(MBIE) to the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) on 5 November 2021 for
information regarding COVID-19 and managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ).
Each point of your request is answered in turn.
I request the following information for the 1 January 2021 to 18 October
2021 (or similar dates):
Of the above, the number of persons testing positive for COVID-19 during
their stay in MIQ by day
Eight people have tested positive for COVID-19 while staying in MIQ
between the dates specified.
Of the above returnees who tested positive, from which testing day was
their positive result returned.
One case came from day zero testing, three cases came from day three
testing, and four cases came from day twelve testing.
Which dates in 2021 a pre-departure test was required before flying to New
Zealand from Australia.
Please note, this information is held regarding individual Australian
States. The below table itemises when pre-departure testing (PDT) was
required to travel from Australian States to New Zealand. QFT refers to
quarantine free travel.
