January 2022 for:
Part 1
"As Medsafe have granted provisional approval for the Pfizer COVID-19
vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years old, I request the following:
All documents, scientific articles and minutes used in making this
decision"
and
Part 2
"As the PCR test does not differentiate between covid variants, how many
of the positive PCR tests from 18th December 2021 were sent for genomic
sequencing to determine that the variant was Omicron. Also please advise
me what organisations carry out the genomic sequencing and provide me with
the raw data that was used to determine this."
The Ministry has consolidated both your requests under reference
number: H202117907.
The Ministry does not hold the information relating to part 2 of your
request; however, I have been advised that this information is more
closely aligned with the functions of The Institute of Environmental
Science and Research (ESR). For this reason, I have decided to transfer
part 2 of your request to ESR under section 14(b)(i) of the Act. You may
expect a response from them in due course.
Please note, the Ministry will respond to part 1 of your request in due
course.
