Claudia,
To be absolutely clear, are you indicating that the only "correspondence, emails, agendas, briefing notes, text messages" between the Mayor and other individuals or groups regarding his support for the genocide of the Palestinian people were exchanged between Foster and MFAT?
You are confirming there were no communications between Foster and council about this matter, and no communications with foreign embassies, foreign lobby groups or foreign lobbyists like Sheree Trotter, Juliet Moses etc?
Yours sincerely,
Mohammed Khan

Kia ora Mohammed,
In regards to the wording of your LGOIMA request, the mayor's office have advised that at no time has Mayor Andy Foster supported genocide of Palestinians.
There was no communication with other groups, embassies, or individuals regarding the Mayor’s decision.
The only other communication was by phone from the mayor to both the Chief Executive and Wellington NZ (who operate the Michael Fowler Centre) to convey the advice received from MFAT and that the event would not be taking place.
In terms of it being requested, Councillors were approached by the Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa directly and Councillor Paul arranged the Michael Fowler Centre projection. This was not a decision that went through Council.
I hope this clarifies the response for you.

Thanks Claudia,
I understand that your official position is that Foster's decision to support the genocide of Palestinians is purported to have solely been made on the advice of MFAT.
Will you require a new request to be made to solicit the Mayor's phone records in the week surrounding the decision to support the zionist Nakba against the Palestinian people?
Yours sincerely,
Mohammed

Dear BUS: Assurance,
Understood, Claudia.
I do not require phone numbers- the names of the persons with which Foster exchanged text messages or phone calls in the week surrounding his decision to take sides to oppose the commemoration of the zionist genocide against the Palestinian people would be sufficient.
Regards,
Mohammed

Kia ora Mohammed,
A previously advised, the mayor was not in discussions with any other groups or individuals regarding this decision. Following text advice from MFAT (Lisa White, Deputy Chief of Protocol), the Mayor relayed the advice via phone call to Wellington NZ (John Allan), who manages the Michael Fowler Centre. The mayor also contacted the WCC Chief Executive, Barbara McKerrow as well as Councillor Paul via phone call to convey the advice and decision not to proceed. The mayor does not support genocide.
