Review of District Plan for Motiti Island
Sean Marshall made this Official Information request to Nanaia Mahuta
The request was refused by Nanaia Mahuta.
From: Sean Marshall
Tēnā koe Minister,
I am writing to you in your capacity as territorial authority for Motiti Island. I'm writing regarding the Motiti Island Environmental Management Plan (the District Plan for Motiti Island under the RMA) and the National Planning Standards.
I note that the Standards set a deadline of 3 May 2024 for you to either amend the Plan to comply with the Standards or notify a new plan. However, I'm mindful that, given the impending replacement of the RMA, your office/ministry may be postponing any preparation for this until those reforms are finalised.
What Plan, if any, does your office/ministry have to amend or replace the Plan to bring it in line with the Standards? Please include any reports, timelines or other documents which may be relevant to my request.
Yours faithfully,
Sean Marshall
