Timeline for updating Covid response recommendations
Debbie made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Debbie to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Debbie
Dear Ministry of Health,
With the plethora of studies now available regarding the harm linked to Covid vaccinations, such as shown in the document below, would you please advise when New Zealand's risk assessments and response will be updated?
https://thebfd.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/...
In particular for children. The evidence shows there is negligible harm to them from Covid if they do not have co-morbidities, but your Ministry is still pushing these injections as "safe and effective."
Yours faithfully,
Debbie

Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) on 24 August 2022 for:
"With the plethora of studies now available regarding the harm linked to
Covid vaccinations, such as shown in the document below, would you please
advise when New Zealand's risk assessments and response will be updated?

While the Act allows New Zealanders to ask for information from Ministers
and government agencies, there is no requirement for agencies to create
new information, compile information they do not hold or provide or prove
an opinion. Your questions and the statements that support them appear
designed to engage in a debate about the Government’s COVID-19 vaccination
programme, rather than a request for official information. The Act does
not support requests where an opinion, comment, argument, or hypothetical
statement is put to the Ministry for response, couched as a request for
information. Your request is therefore refused under section 18(g) on the
grounds that it is not held by Manatû Hauora.
Information about COVID-19 vaccine safety monitoring is publicly available
at: [2]medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/safety-monitoring.asp. The approval status
of COVID-19 vaccines is available on Medsafe's website
at: [3]https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/sta...
The updated summary of the risk management plan for the COVID-19 vaccine,
as at 22 January 2022, is publicly available
at: [4]www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/Comirnaty-RMP.pdf
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [5][email address] or by calling 0800
802 602.

From: Debbie
Dear OIA Requests,
My request was requesting an official timeline, not a debate. Is there a proposed date/timeframe for the Ministry to review their Covid vaccination recommendations by considering new Scientific studies coming to light, or are there no plans for review? Yes or No question
Yours sincerely,
Debbie

Thank you for your follow up request under the Official Information Act

for:
"Is there a proposed date/timeframe for the Ministry to review their Covid

Manatū Hauora is constantly reviewing the available evidence and our
recommendations. The COVID-19 Vaccine Technical Advisory Group (CV TAG)
provides science advice and recommendations on the use of COVID-19
vaccinations. The CV TAG meets monthly, and all CV TAG memos are publicly
available
